  • Multiple tooth implants
  • Implant supported bridges
  • Implant supported dentures

What are Implants?

Dental Implants have been used successfully for many years. The implant itself is a post that is placed in the jaw. A prosthesis (artificial tooth or teeth) is then attached to the post.

How Are Dental Implants Placed?

Step One:

  • Dr. Norkiewicz will examine the site and take the necessary xrays to prepare for the procedure.
  • A small incision is made in the gum and the bone is prepared to receive the implant.
  • The dental implant is placed.  The implant will need 2-4 months to heal or integrate to the bone.
  • A cover screw is placed on the implant and the gums are stitched together.

Restorative Phase:

Step Two:

  • After only 2-4 months of healing a post is attached to the implant body.

  • An impression is taken of the post for a crown or bridge to be made.

  • The crown is then cemented onto the post.

Benefits of Dental Implants

• Look, feel and function like natural teeth.

• Maintain the natural shape of your jaw and face, which can change after you lose teeth.

• Won’t decay like natural teeth.

• Preserve your other teeth. That means no grinding or crowning of your natural teeth for bridges, and no clasps for removable partial dentures.

• Help restore biting and chewing – comfortably!

• Eliminate bone loss in your jaws, which is inevitable after tooth loss.

• Won’t slip like dentures.

You can even clean your dental implants just as you would your natural teeth. There are no special formulas, brushes, special floss or adhesives to use!
